They work fine for logging into the Winlink 'robot' mailbox stations, but I am really interested in 'rag-chewing'. The WinXP 'guest' operating system loads just fine, the XPWin software now in the public domain loads just fine and the 'config' set up runs just fine. I have run 'dumb terminal' programs, such as Hyperterminal and Putty, and they 'talk' to my TNCs just fine.

If you have run 'chat' type software, you will easily understand that neither of those programs work worth a 'hoot' as 'rag-chewing' programs.

I "presume" that will fix the 'failure to communicate" problem with XPWin, but of course, until I have a 'host' pc with WinXP as the 'host' operating system, I really won't know. Please don't 'chastise' me for wanting to run older 'legacy' modes. I like Pactor. The current 'crop' of sound card modes work great, but none of them compare to the 'true' ARQ "handshaking" mode of Pactor, ALE notwithstanding.
