Now, Dell install a hardware bluetooth device with a PID that has been modified to so that Windows does not recognise it as a usable bluetooth device and in doing so, force you to install the bluetooth software they supply. By putting a NO no check mark in the third check box down the list, I was able to stop bubbles from popping up from the Bluetooth symbol in the tray. Instead, all I would get was a rather large window in the middle of the screen. I confirmed that the mouse was the item I wanted to add it identified itself clearly as soon as I pushed the pairing button on the bottom of the mouse , and I was then presented with a window where I could choose "This device does not have - or does not need - a pairing code".
Finally, it worked. My hypothesis is that if you leave the 'Alert me when a Bluetooth Device want to connect' box checked, the pop-up balloon from the notification tray somehow supercedes the input you provide in the large window in the middle of the screen - and this prevents the large window in the middle of the screen from presenting you with a second page second window where you can declare that the friggin' mouse has no pairing code, just connect it.

As far as I know, the bluetooth mouse should be in the 6. Trying choosing SideWinder as your mouse type, and then pick the lanauge and OS as appropriate, and it should get you the most recent driver.
When you go to install it, it should list all the mouse types - see if Bluetooth is listed there. I have tried most of the mouse options in the driver list and customized the fourth button to 'Ctrl' as I have a CAD program that becomes much more productive with that change on the mouse.
However, it does not seem to work with any of the stock drivers. I purchased this mouse fully expecting the fourth button to work properly. Please tell me which particular other mouse I would need to select to be able to customize the function of the fourth mouse button!!
