Whether for grants, strategic planning or program design, there are some easy steps to follow for success. There are a few steps you can take now, to ensure you will write quality goals and objectives that are usable, easily understood and can be measured and tracked. Objectives Should Tell:.
Be stated in action terms: increase, decrease, etc. Define the population to be served. Integrate evidence through methods such as summaries, paraphrases, quotations, and visuals. Understand how purpose, audience, and context relate to genre conventions such as structure, style, design, usage, mechanics, and citation practices. Follow contextually appropriate conventions for language use related to areas such as grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Explain why genre conventions for structure, paragraphing, tone, and mechanics vary within and across genres.
Understand composing processes as flexible and collaborative, drawing upon multiple strategies. Use meaningful, ongoing reflection to inform writing processes, foster the development of a writing identity, and think ahead to future writing situations. Narrate their processes and progress as writers throughout Foundations Writing courses.
Assess how writing experiences and artifacts might influence future writing situations. Foundations Writing. What do we do in Foundations Writing? What is Foundations Writing Writing? The Kerouac Project provides four residencies a year to writers of any stripe or age, living anywhere in the world. You will be judged on the quality of the writing sample you submit. Each residency consists of approximately a three-month stay in the cottage where Jack Kerouac wrote his novel Dharma Bums.
As writer-in-residence, all you are required to do is live in the Kerouac House during your residency, work on your writing project, and participate in two events—a Welcome Potluck dinner for you, and a Final Reading of your work at the Kerouac House at the end of your residency.
Should you desire them, the Kerouac Project can also offer opportunities for you to participate in other readings, lead workshops, and interact in other ways with the vibrant Central Florida literary community.
Details and application here. The I-park Foundation offers an all-expense paid residency to artists and writers 21 years and over of all walks of life! All residencies are 4-weeks and include artists, all of whom arrive and depart at the same time, ensuring a deeply shared experience. Residents are provided a private bedroom in a renovated s farmhouse, a private studio and chef-prepared dinners five nights a week. The Baltic Writing Residency is offering several residency grants for writers in the poetry, young adult, literary, and genre fiction spaces.
Residencies are held in Kentucky, Sweden, and Scotland and more. The application fee varies depending on which grant you are applying for.
